Looking back, what first drew you towards photography and made you realise it was your path?
I was a creative child growing up, and I was always fascinated by photography. I found the old family holiday camera (a 35mm point + shoot) when I was about 14 and started taking it everywhere with me. I guess you could say this was when my love for film began!
Your images capture so much energy and connection, how do you build that trust and intimacy with the people you photograph?
It's important to make your subject feel comfortable and at ease, I'm a big yapper and more often than not just literally just chatting about anything and everything before the shoot seems to help!
You’ve documented street culture, music and fashion throughout your career. What shifts or changes have you noticed in these communities recently?
I feel as though London's creative community is ever growing and expanding, allowing more young people to truly express their creativity, which is beautiful to see.
When you’re not behind the camera, where do you find inspiration, through books, music, art, or everyday life?
I love to read (mostly fiction), going to galleries and exhibitions (I recently enjoyed Yoshitomo Nara at The Southbank Centre and Beyond the Bassline at The British Library), but also just every day life! I am inspired by my friends and the creative people in my life every day.
As you look ahead, what are you most excited about in 2026?
I definitely want to be more experimental with my work in 2026, so I am looking forward to trying new things!
