REBECCA (she/her) is a poet, filmmaker, DJ and multidisciplinary artist whose work is an ongoing exploration of dreams, empathy, angels, temporality, return, hope, impossibility and an exploration into her Iranian heritage.
At the heart of Rebecca''s practice lies a deep interest in the relationship between the body and the contexts we inhabit socially, historically and spiritually. Rebecca studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins where she developed a practice rooted in performance, storytelling and film. During her Erasmus exchange in Antwerp, she began developing fictional characters that became anchors for her text-based installations and experimental musical performances. After graduating, she was selected for the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival in Berlin and appointed Artist in Residence at St Mary’s Calne. At the residency, she ran workshops and curated exhibitions of her work. During this time, she created her first documentary ‘Reza: Journey of a Name’, tracing the life of her grandfather, a piece later exhibited in Presence of Absence at the Mall Galleries.
Her work has been exhibited both in the UK and internationally, including in Bath, Newcastle, London, Belgium and Berlin.
