INTERNATIONAL PERFORMER, MODEL, ARTIST AND ACTIVIST.
Sakeema Peng Crook is a London-based model and performer whose first language of self-expression was dance. “Whether I'm dancing with someone or by myself, it's a conversation,” she says. “When I'm dancing on my own, it's my own way of speaking to myself.” After formal training in ballet alongside other movement styles, Sakeema’s creative practice naturally expanded into fashion, nightlife and performance, opening new doors for embodied storytelling and cultural expression. In addition to being an active member of the London Ballroom scene, Sakeema’s recent commissions and collaborations include Mugler, MAC and Christian Louboutin, alongside movement credits on the Sam Smith global tour, featured roles in music videos and immersive performance pieces.
Sakeema uses her platform as a model and performer not only as a vehicle for creative expression, but as a way to ensure the conversations she cares about are being heard. Past clients and collaborators include British Vogue, Dazed, Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana Beauty and Luis De Javier. She has walked for Ganni at Copenhagen Fashion Week and featured in H&M’s Pride ‘Chosen Family’ campaign, with her work sitting at the intersection of fashion, performance, identity and cultural storytelling.
