It's no secret that diversity and inclusivity in the fashion industry are things we are hugely passionate about at Crumb, so we were thrilled to be invited to collaborate with one of the world’s biggest brands, adidas Originals, who wanted to bring together a unique, inspiring and powerful group of women (solely cast through Crumb Agency) to help drive the conversation forward.
Six of our beautiful Crumbs; Zelie, Nyome, Lillian, Claudia, Sophie L and Kitty were flown over to the adidas Originals offices in Nuremberg, Germany, to co-create with the design team and explore the issues around diversity and inclusivity. This inspirational project focused on speaking to a diverse range of women to find out, truly, how the brands design process can be changed to make it work better for women everywhere.
“As a plus-sized woman of colour and a model who champions change and demands inclusion and representation within the fashion industry; I was overjoyed to learn that this is what Adidas is trying to achieve. To make their brand more inclusive of all bodies and races, but also pushing us to use our voices to make this change through how we choose to style our clothing; and by having a discussion about what representation means to all of us individually. WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY” Crumb Human, Nyome Nicholas-Williams.
A huge thanks and big love to the team at adidas Originals. It was a breath of fresh air to work with such a prominent, global brand whose focus was to authentically drive the conversation forward. Also a huge thanks of course to our amazing Crumb girls, it was truly one of our proudest Crumb projects to date and proof that inclusivity fashion is absolutely happening.
We’re looking forward to future collaborations so watch this space!
Love,
